Sachin Bansal

Co-founder, Flipkart

E-commerce

Co-built the company that taught India to shop online.

Sachin Bansal, with Binny Bansal, started Flipkart as an online bookstore and grew it into India's e-commerce pioneer.

What they built

Flipkart cracked hard, India-specific problems, cash-on-delivery for a cash economy, its own logistics, and trust in online shopping, long before the market was obvious. Its sale to Walmart was one of the country's biggest tech exits.

Why it matters for India

Flipkart proved a homegrown company could out-execute global players on Indian ground, and it seeded a whole generation of founders and operators.
